How SINGLE MOMMYS CARE Began

SINGLE MOMMYS CARE was born from a deeply personal understanding of the challenges single mothers face every day. Founded in Mableton, Georgia, our organization was created by individuals who witnessed firsthand the struggles that single-parent families endure — from financial hardship and lack of childcare to emotional isolation and limited access to essential resources.

What started as a small community effort to provide basic necessities to single mothers in our neighborhood has grown into a comprehensive support system that touches the lives of hundreds of families across the region. We recognized that single mothers needed more than just temporary relief — they needed lasting empowerment.

Today, SINGLE MOMMYS CARE stands as a beacon of hope, offering a wide range of human services designed to address every facet of single motherhood. From our humble beginnings, we have remained committed to one guiding principle: every single mother deserves the chance to build a better life for herself and her children.

Driven by Purpose, Guided by Heart

At SINGLE MOMMYS CARE, we are dedicated to uplifting single mothers in our community. Our mission is to provide essential human services that cater to the diverse needs of single moms, helping them navigate the challenges of parenthood while fostering independence and resilience. Through our unwavering support, resources, and programs, we empower mothers to thrive for themselves and their children.

We envision a world where no single mother feels alone in her journey. A community where every mom has access to the resources, support, and opportunities she needs to create a stable, fulfilling life for her family. We strive to break the cycle of hardship and build a future where single-parent families are empowered, celebrated, and given every chance to succeed.

Words From Our Moms

Hear from the incredible women whose lives have been transformed through our programs.

When I lost my job and didn’t know how I was going to feed my two kids, SINGLE MOMMYS CARE stepped in immediately. They didn’t just give us food — they helped me get job training, and now I’m working as a medical assistant. I wouldn’t be where I am today without them.

Tamika R.

The mentorship program changed my life. Having someone who understood exactly what I was going through — another single mom who had been there — gave me hope. The support group became my second family. My daughter and I are thriving now, and I’m even mentoring others!

Jessica M.

I was a young mom with no degree and no idea what to do. SINGLE MOMMYS CARE helped me earn my GED, get into college, and even provided childcare so I could attend classes. I graduated last spring with an associate’s degree. My son tells everyone his mommy is a college graduate!

How Our Mission Comes to Life

Every day, our mission translates into real programs, real support, and real transformation for families across our community.

Community food drive

Emergency Resource Distribution

Every month, we distribute care packages filled with food, diapers, baby formula, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and clothing to single mothers in need. Our emergency assistance program ensures that no mother in our community has to choose between feeding her children and paying her bills.

We also provide emergency financial assistance for utility bills, rent, and transportation costs when families face unexpected crises. Our rapid-response team works quickly to connect mothers with the help they need within 24-48 hours of reaching out.

Education & Career Pathways

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking the cycle of poverty. Our education programs include GED preparation classes, college enrollment assistance, scholarship programs, vocational training in high-demand fields, and partnerships with local employers who are committed to hiring single mothers.

We also offer resume writing workshops, interview preparation, professional wardrobe assistance, and ongoing career coaching to ensure mothers not only land jobs but build sustainable, rewarding careers.

Women in classroom
Mentorship meeting

Mentorship & Emotional Wellness

Loneliness and emotional exhaustion are among the greatest challenges single mothers face. Our mentorship program pairs each mother with an experienced mentor — often a woman who has walked the same path — providing a trusted confidante, advisor, and cheerleader.

We also facilitate weekly support groups, one-on-one counseling sessions, self-care workshops, and stress management programs. Mental health is just as important as physical health, and we make it a priority in everything we do.

Community Building & Youth Enrichment

Strong communities are built through meaningful connections. We organize family-friendly events, holiday celebrations, back-to-school drives, mother-daughter retreats, and community picnics that bring single-parent families together in joyful, supportive environments.

Our youth programs provide after-school tutoring, summer enrichment camps, art and music workshops, and leadership development activities for children of single mothers. We believe that investing in children today creates stronger, more resilient adults tomorrow.

Stories That Inspire Our Mission

Behind every program is a real mother whose life has been transformed. These stories fuel our passion and prove that our mission works.

Danielle was a 22-year-old single mother of twins when she found us. She had dropped out of college and was working two part-time jobs just to make ends meet. Through our education program, she earned her degree in nursing while we provided childcare and financial support. Today, Danielle is a registered nurse earning a stable income, and her twins are thriving in school.

After fleeing a difficult situation, Maria arrived at our door with three young children and nothing else. Our emergency assistance program provided her family with food, clothing, and temporary housing. Within six months, our team helped her secure permanent housing, enroll in job training, and find full-time employment. Maria now volunteers with us, giving back to other mothers in crisis.

Keisha was struggling with depression and anxiety after becoming a single mother unexpectedly. Through our mentorship and counseling program, she was matched with a mentor who helped her navigate her emotions while our counselors provided professional support. Today, Keisha leads one of our support groups and is studying to become a licensed counselor herself.

Our Future Goals

Our mission is ever-evolving. Here are the goals we’re working toward to expand our impact.

🏢 Community Resource Center

Other Ways to Support Our Mission

Can’t volunteer right now? There are still many ways to support single mothers in our community.

💝

Make a Donation

Your financial contribution, no matter the amount, helps fund our programs and services. Every dollar goes directly toward supporting single mothers and their children with essential needs like food, clothing, housing assistance, and educational resources.

📦

Donate Supplies

We accept donations of diapers, baby formula, school supplies, gently used clothing, non-perishable food items, personal hygiene products, and household essentials. Contact us to arrange a drop-off or find out what items are most needed right now.

📣

Spread the Word

Follow us on social media, share our posts, and tell your friends and family about SINGLE MOMMYS CARE. The more people who know about our mission, the more mothers and children we can reach and support in the Mableton and greater Atlanta area.
